Western Slope residents have three opportunities to test drive electric vehicles (EVs) for free this spring in Basalt, Avon, and Carbondale.
“It’s a great time to test drive an EV as plenty of used EVs are coming onto the market, and events like this give folks a no-pressure way to get behind the wheel and see what driving electric actually feels like,” said Clean Energy Economy for the Region (CLEER) Clean Mobility Program Manager Dova Castañeda Zilly.
CLEER is leading efforts to promote EVs and expand charging infrastructure across West Central Colorado through our ReCharge Colorado work, supporting the state’s goal of putting nearly 1 million EVs on the road by 2030.
As part of those efforts, CLEER is hosting EV Ride & Drive events in Basalt, Avon, and Carbondale. EVs from Mountain Chevrolet, Columbine Ford, Tesla, Rivian, and Audi Volkswagen Glenwood Springs are slated to be available for test drives at the following locations:
- Noon to 6 p.m. at Basalt River Park on Wednesday, April 22, for Basalt’s Earth Day Celebration.
- 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sun & Ski Parking lot, Avon, on Saturday, May 16, for the Avon Sustainability Fair.
- 4-8 p.m. at Carbondale Town Hall on Friday, June 5, for Carbondale’s June First Friday.
